In today's image, we see the remnant left behind by a star that was seen to explode nearly 2000 years ago. A new star was recorded near the center of this remnant by Chinese astronomers. No neutron star/pulsar seems to be present, leading us to believe that this is a Type Ia supernova which is the explosion of a white dwarf star which has exceeded its mass limit.
