2023 February 23 - Arp 78: Peculiar Galaxy in Aries
In today's image, we see Arp 78 which is an example of a peculiar galaxy. A peculiar galaxy is a galaxy generally with a distorted structure because of interactions with other nearby galaxies. Generally, we are catching this in the process of a collision and they would settle down to look like an ordinary galaxy in a few hundred million years or so.
