2023 January 21 - Naked-eye Comet ZTF

January 21, 2023

In today's image, we see comet ZTF as imaged just a couple of days ago. The comet has brightened enough and is now visible to the naked-eye from a dark site with little light pollution. It should continue to brighten as it reaches closest approach to Earth on Feb 2. However, it will not come anywhere near close enough to Earth to have any chance to impact!
