2024 September 06 - Ringed Ice Giant Neptune
In today's image, we see the planet Neptune as imaged by the James Webb Space Telescope. This is the first imaging of the rings of Neptune since the Voyager 2 craft flew by the ice giant in 1989. The bright object to the upper left is the large moon, Triton. Several other of Neptune's moon as also visible in the image.
