2024 August 31 - IFN and the NGC 7771 Group

In today's image, we see the Galaxy group containing the spiral galaxy known as NGC 7771. The two larger spiral galaxies here are interacting and will eventually merge in to a single larger galaxy. The IFN refers to Integrated Flux Nebulae. These consist of dust slightly above the plane of our galaxy and are sometimes clawed galactic cirrus.
