2024 August 28 - Tulip Nebula and Black Hole Cygnus X-1

In today's image, we see the Tulip Nebula, an emission nebula located in the constellation of Cygnus. Also in the image is the black hole known as Cygnus X-1. This is one of the closer black holes to Earth and one of the first confirmed to exist. The star is the companion star around the black hole.
