NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day
2024 January 30 - SLIM Lands on the Moon
In today's image, we see the SLIM (Smart Lander for Investigating Moon) craft which recently dropped off two small roves on the Moon for future exploration. The main craft itself did not land as expected and its solar panels are not positioned correctly. However, this is not a big issue as the main craft was not designed to survive the lunar night which lasts for two weeks and will begin in another day or so.
