2023 December 30 - The Last Full Moon

December 30, 2023

In today's image, we see the last full moon of 2023 very close to the horizon. The distortions are causes by refraction from different layers of Earth's atmosphere and their bending of light. Earth's atmosphere is also responsible for the color changes seen when our Moon is close to the horizon.
