2023 October 09 - A Distorted Sunrise Eclipse
In today's image, we see an eclipse which occurred as the Sun was rising above the horizon. The images of the Moon above and below the Sun nearly split the Sun in two in this image and are caused by distortions within the Earth's atmosphere which occur when looking close to the horizon.
