In today's image, we see an image of an annular eclipse of the Sun from 2020. This type of eclipse occurs when the Moon is a bit farther away and does not appear quite large enough to block out the entire disk of the Sun. A similar eclipse will occur next month and a total solar eclipse will occur in April of next year.
