NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day
2023 June 30 - Orbits of Potentially Hazardous Asteroids
In today's image, we see our inner solar system with the orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars identified. The other orbits are those of more than a thousand Potentially Hazardous Asteroids. These are asteroids that are large enough to cause significant damage if there were to impact Earth as well as having an orbit that will bring them close enough to Earth to make them a potential danger.
