2023 June 21 - Three Sun Paths

June 21, 2023

In today's image, we see three different paths taken by our Sun over the course of the year. The lowest and shortest path is at the winter solstice. The highest and longest path is at the summer solstice. The intermediate path would be for the equinoxes. The changing altitude of our Sun and the change in the amount of time it spends in the sky during the day is what causes our changing seasons.
