How to get back an accidentally closed browser tab
You’re on the internet, maybe doing some research, and keeping track of a few different things in various tabs in your browser of choice (probably Chrome or Firefox, maybe even Internet Explorer). Â You go to click on one of the tabs, and you accidentally click the little “X” at the right edge, and of course the tab closes. Â Quick, what do you do?
Â
First you panic, of course! Â But that shouldn’t last too long, because there is an easy solution to this problem.
Just hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys, and tap the letter T. Â There’s your tab back right where it was before!
This has happened to me a few times, and it was before I knew this trick, so it was pretty frustrating. Â I actually looked around for a browser plugin that restores accidentally deleted tabs (and there are some available – they just aren’t necessary when you know this secret).
This works in Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. Â Maybe others, but I haven’t tried it in the other ones.
