Showcasing Schools: Integrating Academics and Behavior

May 20, 2019

Schools across Pennsylvania are working towards an integrated model; reshaping how we approach the academic side and the behavior side of the MTSS triangle.  Three Pennsylvania schools share their integration story.

Marc Cacciotti - Maple Ridge Elementary

Maple Ridge is a rural PK-2 elementary school serving 480 students in south western PA (Somerset County). Our free and reduced lunch rate is 58%. We are recognized as a Tier 1 and advanced tier PBIS school. We are also approved to identify students with a specific learning disability through the RTII model.

Abby Mosier - Punxsutawney Elementary School

Punxsutawney Area Elementary School is a K-6 building in the Punxsutawney Area School District. There are just over 1100 students in the building. The district is in a rural area encompassing approximately 274 square miles in Jefferson and Indiana Counties.
