Parental Geekery
Episode 54 – As You Wish
Another week, another episode of Parental Geekery, the show about parenting and geekiness. Ruth and John are back with their relaxed conversational style. We open with a little bit about health - three out of the four members of the family have been poorly, and to add to the complications Ruth's gallbladder surgery has been postponed, which is making Ruth stressed as she doesn't have a plan right now!
We talk about the kids' pocket money, as we've recently changed the way it works to try to encourage them to save more. So now the rules are that they can spend half and save half, and we've got them special money boxes to help them save.
We talk about our Half Term activities, and particularly our family trip to see The Lion King on stage.
We also had a family movie trip to see the Shaun the Sheep movie, and give our verdict on that. Whilst we're talking about film we mention the Oscars, and the winners that we are most pleased about. We're making plans for a family movie night, and the first movie is going to have to be The Princess Bride. Both of us have just finished reading Cary Elwes' book As You Wish, which is packed full of behind the scenes stories about the making of the movie. We highly recommend this.
