Parental Geekery
Episode 53 - As Easy As Walking and Chewing Gum
Welcome to another episode of Parental Geekery. This is the show about parenting and geeky stuff, but for some reason we open today with a discussion about walking and chewing gum.
We then get into a more serious discussion about the recent news that the UK has paved the way for the creation of babies with 3 parents, and you can hear our opinion on this. Is it really fair to describe it as “3-parent babies”, or is that just the press trying to simplify the concept for us?
We went to see Big Hero 6 at the cinema (yes, it finally opened here in the UK), and we talk about what we thought of it. We also talk about how the kids have been “fist bump“-ing non stop since seeing it.
We’ve invested in the Exploding Kittens Kickstarter, and we talk about this amazingly successful campaign, and what fun it is to be part of it. It seems to have become more than just a card game, especially with the newly-released community achievements for stretch goals. John also talks about the Flotilla Kickstarter which he has backed – this is a cool looking electronics kit for the Raspberry Pi. And speaking of the Raspberry Pi, we talk about the newly released Raspberry Pi 2 – we give you the lowdown on what’s new with this tiny, budget computer.
