Parental Geekery
Episode 52 - The Creme Egg Taste Test
Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Parental Geekery. Following the news that Cadbury have changed the chocolate used for Creme Eggs this year, Ruth and John very nobly undertake a “taste test” to see if they can tell the difference, and more importantly whether it will stop them eating them.
Catherine has joined Brownies, and Ruth talks about the surprisingly short waiting list, and what she made of the first meeting. David was “Star of the week” at school this week, which meant we had custody of the class mascot for a few days.
As a Nintendo family blogger, Ruth has just been sent the new Nintendo 3DS for review, although John seems to have claimed it as his own. We chat about the games we’ve been playing recently on both 3DS and Wii-U, including Super Smash Brothers and Pokemon Omega Ruby. We also give our thoughts on Nintendo’s new Amiibo range – what are these new figurines and are they worth getting?
John’s bought a new camera – he’s trading in his Panasonic GX7 for the Olympus EM-1 – and he talks about why.
Ruth’s been suffering a bit with her gallstones, and is preparing to go into hospital in a few weeks to have her gallbladder removed. We’re hoping we can use this experience to prepare David for the minor surgery he’ll be undergoing in the summer to correct his hydrocele.
