Parental Geekery

Episode 43 - The Massive Easter Catchup

April 30, 2014

Welcome back to another episode of Parental Geekery. We’ve got a lot to catch up with, since we haven’t recorded a show since before the Easter holidays.

We start off talking about Ruth’s recent computer hard drive failure, and the importance of backups. We recommend cloudberry for Windows and arq for Mac.

We talk about our trip to the Gadget Show Live – Ruth went on her own with a press pass, and then we all went as a family on one of the public days. John raves about his Red 5 quadcopter, and Ruth’s pick of the show is the iWalk rechargeable battery. There’s also an honourable mention for Tappy the tap guard.

We briefly divert into the world of Android apps and how there are still not enough educational titles on the platform. The article we refer to is this one: The 50 Best Education Apps for Android

We’ve been to PR events with both Hewlett Packard and Next, and John’s also had a couple of trips to London on his own for events run by Panasonic and Leica.

We then talk about Easter and what happened with the Easter bunny this year (warning – don’t let little ears listen to this part!)

And finally we talk about Catherine losing her second tooth – thankfully she didn’t swallow this one!
