Parental Geekery

Episode 37 - All About In-App Purchases

February 13, 2014

Welcome back to the latest episode of Parental Geekery. In this week’s show we mostly talk about in-app purchases and what we think of them, but not before a quick mention of the latest Flappy Bird news.

We talk about the new UK principles for in-app purchases, which our friend Andy from Family Gamer TV has done a very good video to explain. You can find it on YouTube here.

We talk about our experiences and opinions of in-app purchase, talking about such apps as Cut the Rope 2, Candy Crush Saga, Disney Frozen Free Fall and Where’s My Water 2. We also speculate on how the principles might apply to games like Disney Infinity and Skylanders.

We’ve finally found out what Gangsta Granny is, and give a quick update on Catherine’s reading.

We close off with a mention of Voices Around The World and their very special version of a fantastic Howard Jones song.
