Parental Geekery

Episode 33 - Happy New Year

January 08, 2014

Welcome back to Parental Geekery – our first show of 2014. We took a little break from podcasting over Christmas and today we talk about what we did during the holidays. You can also read about our Christmas over on Ruth’s blog.

We discovered that we have a difference of opinion as to how Father Christmas should work, and we’re asking for your help – what happens in your house? Please get in touch and let us know.

We all went to see Disney’s new movie Frozen and loved it. In fact Ruth took Catherine back to see it a second time. We talk about “Let It Go” being the song highlight of the film and you can watch this clip on YouTube (but it does lose a little in context). If you haven’t seen this movie yet we highly recommend it!

We talk about Catherine’s first wobbly tooth and how she lost it (thankfully the Tooth Fairy still delivered!)

We give an update on David’s toilet training – he’s recently stopped wearing pull-ups overnight.

We talk briefly about our experiences with Disney infinity which we bought Catherine for Christmas, and will talk more about this in a future show.

Finally we give a quick app recommendation. Duolingo (available on iOS, Android and the web) is a really fun, free way to learn a new language.
