Parental Geekery
Episode 24 - No Porn for You!
We open this episode of Parental Geekery by talking about the complete U-turn Microsoft have taken over the Xbox One after we talked about it in our previous show.
We then move on to discuss David Cameron and the recent demands he’s made on UK ISPs to block porn to all households. John gets a little ranty at this point. We refer to the excellent article on PC Pro.
We have a new Prince in our Royal family, and talk about the arrival of the new baby
John talks about the photography workshop he is helping to run in Liverpool in a couple of weeks.
We talk about attending the Blog on blogging conference at MOSI last weekend, hosted by Blogs Up North.
Ruth talks about how she’s getting on with the Fitbug which she’s been sent for review purposes. John would like to know if any of our listeners can recommend a suitable device for him, as he’s thinking about doing a Skydive. Yes, really.
It would be to raise money for The Lullaby Trust, inspired by the lovely Matilda Mae who was taken by SIDS at just 9 months old. The story is recounted here on her Mum’s blog (please note that this blog post talks about the events of that evening and might be upsetting if you are sensitive to anything concerned with baby loss).
What’s we’re watching: Arrow, Person of interest, Despicable Me 2 and Pacific Rim
Stuff John’s playing on the Ouya – Knightmare Tower, ChronoBlade, The Little Crane That Could, Final Fantasy 3
John’s also listening to the last 2 books in the Ender’s trilogy Xenocide and Children of the Mind.
