Paul Asbell has been playing music for 60+ years give or take. He’s a virtuoso blues guitarist. He’s played with some of the greatest musicians of the 20th century.
In his new book Stages: Ruminations, Rants, and Reminiscences on a Life in Music Paul shares 32 stories from his past. Folks like Pete Seeger, John Lee Hooker, and Big Mama Thornton, and many more grace the pages of this well written and wonderfully illustrated volume, with original art by Lorraine Halpin Zaloom and styled by Tina Christensen.
Paul Asbell started out in Chicago where the blues scene caught his interest. He was exposed to Folk, Jazz, Rock, all of which informs his own style of Americana Blues. Paul teaches and performs in Burlington Vermont, and around New England.
In addition to discussing the book, we’ll be listening to musical selections spanning Paul’s career.
