Banning Eyre – “Bare Songs Vol. I”
Banning Eyre is one of those guitarists who has to play. He has to explore different sounds and is drawn to commune with musicians wherever he goes. Banning is an ethnomusicologist, so he travels far and connects with players, learning from them and sharing with them. He’s played in bands and ensembles, and is now releasing some of his solo music on the new record Bare Songs Vol. I
Traveling broadens and deepens people, and Banning has embraced experiences that opened him to the universality of music as a means of communication and healing. He’s been involved with the radio program Afropop Worldwide since it’s inception.
Banning and Baruch discuss the music, and Banning shares some stories of his travels, and of course there is lots of music to enjoy!
