How can anyone enter into a contract without knowing it?
All too easily, says entertainment attorney and author Gordon Firemark
On Sunday, August 2, Gordon will be explaining how that can happen, along with other legal issues that can affect the podcasting community, as a featured speaker at Podcast Movement, the world's largest podcasters' convention. His presentation, entitled "The Law and the Profits: Legal and Business Survival Tips for Podcasters", will reflect both Gordon's 22-plus years as an entertainment attorney, and his own hands-on experience.
Besides his legal expertise, Gordon's professional background includes extensive work in both television and theatrical production, as well as creating and teaching a high-level law course on theatre law for Southwestern University. He himself is a podcaster, hosting and producing his "Entertainment Law Update" podcast since 2009. In addition, he is the author of the book, "The Podcast, Blog and New Media Producer's Survival Guide".
Gordon talked about his journey as a legal professional in the entertainment industry, previewed his upcoming Podcast Movement session and explained some of the legal issues that can affect podcasters.
