Designer Karol Munoz's new innovation, Luma Legacy, is inspired by a time-honored tradition.

Karol, who is Luma Legacy's co-founder and CEO, has created a "smart" charm bracelet.  Wearers can share pictures and stories.

Karol's twenty-first century update is based on classic jewelry, such as lockets, that incorporated photographs.  But Luma Legacy takes that concept several steps further.

An app allows the uploading of audio, video--and, yes, photographs--to bracelet charms.

Recently, Karol graduated from  Make in LA's second startup training session.   (Make in LA is Los Angeles' first hardware accelerator!)

Make in LA's program spans four months.  Unsurprisingly, the admission process is highly competitive.  Each "semester" ends with a graduation ceremony: "Hardware Demo Day".

At this June's ceremony, at Van Nuys Airport, four different maker/entrepreneur teams exhibited, and pitched, their creations.  Prospective investors were listening--and connecting.

After the presentations, Karol talked about creating  Luma Legacy, some of the exciting developments since she first came up with the design, and her advice to fellow entrepreneurs.
