In this episode, Dina Khoury discusses her work on Ottoman Iraq, and explores how Ottoman war and politics influenced the socioeconomic life of the provinces of Mosul, Baghdad, and Basra.

Dina Rizk Khoury is Professor of History and International Affairs at George Washington University. Her research focuses on both Ottoman and contemporary Iraq.

Faisal Husain is a doctoral student at Georgetown University researching the environmental history of Ottoman Iraq.
