Episode 118: Public health's bright and exciting future: A conversation with Julie Crumly and Paul Irwin
Public health has been in the spotlight over the last few years. In this episode, host Michael Holtz talked to two public health luminaries: Julie Crumly, Ph.D., senior researcher at ORAU, and Paul Irwin, MD, DrPhD, the dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Crumly received the UAB School of Public Health's Alumni Award for Practice earlier this year. Irwin has roots in East Tennessee. During this conversation, we discussed Crumly's award, how she and ORAU have contributed to the overall practice of public health in East Tennessee and across the country, and the challenges and the bright future for public health practice in the United States.
