Before we can decide on what happened, we need to know who the man was.... So who was Jeffery Vance? Because in how this story plays out your going to want to hear "The good" due to how depressing and downright horrible this whole story becomes.

The Ballad of Jeffrey Vance is more than just a missing person case and the horrible aftermath. It's the story of a man. A real man, who enjoyed his home, but enjoyed the little town of Mt Angel OR as well, where he lived from time to time with his estranged wife in between trips back home to Kansas. The difference is in the absolute absurdity of it all. The case itself and how it played out and what you are about to hear in this multi-part series, but unlike most missing persons, cold case or "true crime" podcasts, we decided to just celebrate Jeff and who he was to his family and friends in this first episode. We tried to get his wife to come on and let us know what Jeff meant to her, but just could not make that connection after numerous attempts and almost pleading to allow her a chance to express herself. Just couldn't bring herself to do so and that's sad as well as his "good friends" there in this little town who also ghosted this incredible opportunity to tell us all how they felt about Jeff. How they must have "grieved" for him, but we only get silence. Many people have reasons for silence, but an entire band of friends and his wife (all his friends were her relatives basically, what that means we will let you decide)??.

This whole story is sad and why its a ballad of sorts. You have the good, the bad and the "in-between" and it's really the "in-between" that we feel all of you are going to find what we are all looking for. ANSWERS! You will be laughing one moment and screaming into your headphones the next about the details presented from the official version of the open, public records of the detectives, ME and SAR reports and then finishing out the series with what the family has discovered, uncovered and painstakingly put together and everyone, depending on who you are are going to be on the edge of your seats or, maybe concerned and thinking 'why didn't I take that opportunity to explain myself! Maybe even thinking of how; when this case is almost surly reopened what the next "story" line will be from those directly involved in this case and there are many, many more of them that might feel they slipped through without notice but noticed they were! I'm, just flabbergasted at the amount of information this family has acquired.

Its just that insane and one rabbit hole after another of what should have been an open and shut case that we will let you decide and even help in solving or providing tips and leads, because this was NOT an OPEN AND SHUT CASE accident from the eyes of those who have seen the reports first hand and know so much MORE than what people think they do...;-)
