Hey everyone, I’m Mike, she’s Sophie, that’s Brenda, and he’s Grogu, and We’re On the Road with Mickey! This is episode 280, and our feature topic this week is the Shining the Spotlight: The Original Attractions of Disneyland! This week we’re talking about the original attractions that were open on July 17, 1955 and that are still here! Here’s what we talked about:

  • Cheddar from the Big Cheese:
    • Sophie:  Zootopia: Better Zoogether! opens Nov. 7 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Disney is going all out for this – they are having almost like a red-carpet event when they celebrate “Zoogether Day LIVE” with a watch-party like theming.
    • Mike: New Ride Details Released for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets! G-Force Records, which was the record label for Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios, has been bought out and is under new management of The Muppets! The Electric Mayhem are appearing in one night only, but they are nowhere to be found! We’ve got to go find them, and we’ll do so riding in the stretch limos! Oh, and the Hollywood landmarks? Let’s just say that it’s been transformed a bit with some Muppet theming…This will be arriving in 2026!
    • Brenda: Also coming in 2026, New Magic Coming to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Walt Disney World! There are going to be some scenery changes it looks like, including this tease: “when the trains rattle their way underground to spectacular natural caverns full of phosphorescent pools”
