On the Road w/Mickey 271 – Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary!
Hey everyone, I’m Mike, she’s Sophie, he’s Grogu, and she’s Brenda! We’re On the Road with Mickey, and this is episode 271! Our feature topic this week is Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary! This week we’re taking a look at the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland, the park that Walt built! Here’s what we talked about:
- Cheddar from the Big Cheese:
- Sophie: Disney Starlight Parade, the new nighttime parade, begins at the Magic Kingdom on July 20.
- Mike: After a very, very lengthy closure and refurbishment Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club is finally open! Guests are very happy about that!
- Brenda: Disney has announced a projected opening date for the reimagined test track ride in Epcot. They plan to reopen on July 22, 2025. Just so happens to be my son‘s 40th bday.
- The Walt Disney Archives are 55 years old! Started in 1970, the Archives feature some of the great treasures from Disney’s history. Here is an awesome YouTube video that D23 put out that shares 23 of those treasures. It’s only a few minutes long, well worth the time to watch it! It’s gonna be very lifelike and very, very believable and we’ve been finding some wonderful words of Mr. Lincoln that are still prophetic today. I think it’s gonna be a great moment for the public when they can sit and hear Mr. Lincoln talk about some of the things. What is Liberty; you know the rights and the obligations that we have and all of that. I think it’s needed today too!” – Walt Disney
