In honor of Memorial Day, Kristy Graham sits down with Lt. Gen. (Ret.) William G. Boykin to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States. Having spent 36 years in the army, Lt. Gen. Boykin knows this loss personally, and he shares what Memorial Day means to him. Boykin currently serves as Family Research Council’s Executive Vice President. He is also a ministry partner who has been a part of Operation Heal Our Patriots since the beginning.

Memorial Day is a day to reflect on sacrifice. Lt. Gen. Boykin challenges listeners to reflect and honor those who gave their lives defending our freedom.

Lt. Gen. Boykin shared that he had to find his identity in Christ—not in his military uniform—in order to truly heal from the wounds of war. Despite this, he never wants to forget the men and women who lost their lives. He credits his ability to balance these two things on his deep faith in Christ.

He said, “As Americans, we should be proud. On Memorial Day, it is a day for reflections and pride.”

Kristy asks Lt. Gen. Boykin to introduce listeners to some of the men and women that he served with. He shares a story of bravery that illustrates the heart of the military to protect their battle buddies as they defend America’s freedom. Then he shares ways to intentionally pray for those who have lost family members.

“My prayer is that America will recognize their sacrifice and be proud,” Boykin shared.
