NEWS:
First up, you know how fragile little baby’s lungs are. There is a seasonal threat to those lungs that hits every year at this time and is a leading cause of hospitalization for babies in the US during their first year of life. Joining me now are Kari Judson, mother and passionate RSV awareness advocate, and Dr. Gregory Sysyn of Pediatrix Group of Georgia to help inform our nursing audience about severe RSV disease and the common signs and symptoms to watch for.
Next, we have a look at helping women with low sex drive. For some women, this may be a sign of an underlying health condition. As nurses, we are taught to look at the whole patient and that includes their sexual health and wellness. A new national survey reveals that about half of women are having lower sex drive than in the past and they’re just dealing with it despite the resulting strain on their relationships and their well-being. I talk with Dr. Leah Millheiser, clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Stanford University.
