Gratitude and Worship

November 16, 2025

“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalm 100:1-5 NLT

How To Worship God

  • Start with gratitude

Enter his gates with thanksgiving;”

  • Let gratitude then lead to praise

“Go into his courts with praise”

“Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,
In the company of the upright and in the assembly.” Psalm 111:1 NASB

“Whatever you do not turn into praise turns into pride.” Mark Batterson

  • Let praise then lead to worship

Worship the Lord with gladness.”

Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the Lord our maker, Psalm 95:6 NLT

“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11 NASB

Revealing the Father’s Heart:

A Prayer Guide

WEEK 3:

Nov 17: Monday

Nov 17: “Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.” Hebrews 13:15 [NIV]

1️⃣ Identity

Father, You are the God who stays

when waiting feels endless.

You are faithful in everything,

present in the places that seem forgotten.

I think of Jacob working for what he loved,

and Rachel waiting for what You promised.

Years passed waiting for the promise of love,

and still they stayed—

believing You were doing something

they couldn’t yet see.

That’s what covenant looks like—

love that labors,

trust that keeps showing up.

You were there,

turning their endurance into worship.

You are here now,

forming the same patience in me.

2️⃣ Reflection

Lord,

I know that ache of waiting.

Like them, I find myself laboring in unseen fields,

wondering if Your promise still holds,

the promise that feels close enough to touch,

but painfully just out of reach.

So I pray,

And I work,

And I wait—

And I wonder

“Lord, God, Will You remember me?”

Jacob could have run home.

Rachel could have given up hope.

But they chose to remain—

to trust You were still at work

in what looked like delay.

You call that kind of faith, praise.

Not the song after victory,

but the quiet yes that holds on anyway.

Teach me that kind of gratitude,

Teach me to stay when life is difficult,

Teach me to trust that love always prevails.

3️⃣ Formation

Father,
when days repeat
and nothing seems to change,
help me stay faithful in the small things.

Let my labor become prayer,
my waiting become worship.

When I’m tempted to chase control,
steady me with remembrance—
You are working
even when I can’t see progress.

Every hour Jacob worked,
every tear Rachel prayed,
was gathered into Your promise.

You don’t waste, You restore.

Do the same in me.
Let endurance become my hallelujah,
and faithfulness my song.

4️⃣ Exaltation

Thank You, Lord,
for being good
in the middle of the story.

You never waste a season,
never forget a promise.

You are the God who stays in the process
and finishes what You begin.

So here—
between the asking and the answering—
I lift my praise.

This is my offering:
not celebration after completion,
but gratitude while the work continues.

You are faithful,
and I will keep singing that truth
until the promise unfolds.

Amen.

Nov 18: Tuesday

Nov 18: “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16 (NIV)

1️⃣ Identity

God,
You are the One

who moves toward mercy—
from seeing pain

to stepping into it.

You don’t cross the road to avoid suffering;
You cross the distance to restore Your child.

You see the wounds I hide,
the places others ignore,
and You come close,
because mercy doesn’t ignore pain—
it heals what fear leaves behind.

Your mercy

isn’t a moment — it’s endurance.
It sees me,

walks toward me,

surrounds me,
and loves me

always.

I know love is an action,

and You are the Way maker, Lord.
You designed this world for good.
You designed compassion to travel the same road we do—
so that even the smallest act of care
becomes holy when placed in Your hands.

Together—You and I, Lord—
we become a sign along the road
that reminds the world You care.

2️⃣ Reflection

Lord, I know this story well.
A man lies wounded on the road,
and others pass him by.

I’ve been both—
the one bleeding,
and the one too busy to stop.
I’ve looked away from another’s pain
and told myself, someone else will help.

But You are the Samaritan in my story.
You saw me stranded,
and You came running—
kneeling in the dust,
bandaging what I could not fix.

Still, You invite me to do the same:
to notice what others miss,
to stay long enough to bind,
to pour out oil and wine without counting the cost.

Your mercy doesn’t measure—it moves.
Let mine do the same.

3️⃣ Formation

Father,
form in me a reflex of kindness,
not delayed, not rehearsed,
just love in motion.

Make my heart a place of peace,
my words a light of hope,
and my home a refuge of healing.

Thank You, Lord, for Your generosity.
You never ask me to go alone;
Your Spirit supplies strength and direction
each time love moves through me.

Take my heart, Lord, and form it like Yours.
Take my eyes to notice what You notice.
Take my hands to lift as Yours lift.
Take my steps to follow
the path of Your compassion.

Teach me to walk Your road,
at Your pace, not ahead in hurry,
not behind in hesitation,
but beside You,
where mercy keeps step with grace.

4️⃣ Exaltation

Jesus,
You are the One who knelt first—
on a dusty road in Samaria,
beside a man left for dead—
and You have been kneeling beside me ever since.

You are the neighbor I’m called to help,
the friend I’m learning to need,
the face of every stranger I meet.

You never hurry past my pain;
You wait for me to join You there,
to learn the rhythm of mercy.

When I’m too proud to stop,
You whisper compassion.

When I’m too weary to move,
You whisper courage.

So I will keep to Your road, Lord,
walking where You walk,
serving where You serve,
loving until love becomes the air I breathe.

For no one else is worthy of all praise;
no one else shares His life so freely.

You are

Lord Most High,
Creator,

Sustainer,

Healer.

With You beside me, whom shall I fear?
You are the One I revere;
the One who calls me Yours.

Amen.

Nov 19: Wednesday

Nov 19: “Sing joyfully to the Lord.” (Ps. 33:1)

1️⃣ Identity

Father,
You are the God who keeps every promise.
You don’t rush deliverance,
but You never forget it either.

Miriam saw You rescue her brother from the river
and spent a lifetime waiting to see You rescue her people.

Eighty years of silence and slavery—
and then, one night, You split the sea.

You turned the path of her childhood fear
into the highway of her freedom.

The same waters that carried Moses as a baby
now swallowed the enemy that once enslaved them.

You are that same Deliverer today.
You don’t just make a way—
You are the Way.

And when I see You move,
when You finish what You began,
all I can do is sing.

2️⃣ Reflection

Lord,
I confess—sometimes I wait to sing
until You’ve finished what You’re doing.

I hold back my hallelujahs,
just in case You don’t come through,
forgetting, again and again,
that You always do—
just not always my way.

Miriam didn’t wait for perfect timing.
She praised You while her story was still unfolding.

She sang by faith, not by sight,
and her song became a bridge
between fear and freedom.

She had seen Your miracles before,
and she knew You would do it again.

Teach me to do the same, Lord,
to let worship rise before resolution,
to sing not because everything is fixed,
but because You are faithful
in the middle of it all.

3️⃣ Formation

Father,
make praise my first reflex,
not my final resort.

When fear rises,
let gratitude rise higher and lead me.
When hope grows quiet,
let faith find its voice and speak peace to me.

Remind me that
praise doesn’t deny the storm—
it declares who commands it.

Praise lifts my voice to the heavens
and steadies my heart
where panic once lived.

When I lift my song,

even trembling,
You meet me there.

You turn worry into wonder
and waiting into worship.

Shape my spirit until joy comes easily,
until thanksgiving feels natural,
until praise becomes
the posture of my life.

4️⃣ Exaltation

Thank You, Lord,
for being the same yesterday, today, and forever.

You are the God who opens seas
and silences fear.

You are the One who teaches Your children
to sing again.

So I lift my voice, like Miriam did—
in faith, in memory, in awe.

Not because I’ve seen the end of the story,
but because I’ve seen Your heart.

You are worthy in every circumstance,
faithful in every season,
and good in every way.

This is my joy, Lord—
to sing because You’re near,
to praise because You’re constant,
to rejoice because You are mine.

“So I will sing joyfully, Lord—

for You are my song,

and my salvation.”

Amen.

Nov 20: Thursday

Nov 20: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.” (Ps. 100:1–3)

1️⃣ Identity

Father,
when the world lost its way,
You didn’t forget Your children.

While chaos rose and voices clashed,
You searched for a family
still willing to listen.

You said, “Build a place of safety.”
And Noah built what love described.

You gathered more than animals, Lord—
You gathered promise.
You sealed a family inside Your mercy,
not because they were perfect,
but because You are faithful.

You are still that Father.
You gather Your children into one house—
the Church—
and call it safety.
Here we are,
different and imperfect,
but still Yours.

2️⃣ Reflection

Lord,

I can only imagine what it felt like in there.

Eight souls shut in for months—

three sons, their wives,

one weary father and his bride.

All with opinions,

all with memories of the world that was.

Some days must have felt long.

The air heavy,

the work endless,

the noise relentless.

It wasn’t peace that kept them together—

it was promise.

I see our own reflection in that wooden frame.

We, too, are shut inside the ark of Your grace,

facing the flood of the world outside.

We argue, we worry, we differ—

but You’ve locked the door Yourself.

We are family now.

Even when I’ve felt pushed to the edge, unseen or unwanted,
You remind me there’s room for me here too.

Forgive us for confusing preference with truth,

for letting pride drown out praise,

for forgetting that we share the same breath of grace.

Remind us, Lord,

that unity doesn’t mean agreement—

it means trust in the same Captain.

3️⃣ Formation

Father,

teach us how to live together in Your ark.

When opinions collide,

let humility steer us.

When frustration rises,

let forgiveness break the wave.

When darkness surrounds,

let Your presence be our only light.

Help us hold each other

when the storm outside roars louder than faith.

Help us remember

that no one on this boat is expendable—

every heart is known by You,

every soul carried by the same covenant.

Make our church a living ark, Lord—

a sanctuary that floats on grace,

a refuge that points the world to You.

Teach us to praise,

not by shouting over one another,

but by standing together

in awe of the God who still holds the rudder.

4️⃣ Exaltation

Thank You, Father,
for remembering mercy
when the world forgets how to listen.

You are our shelter in the flood,
our peace in the noise,
our steady ground in the rising waters.

We are different—
brothers and sisters
with our own ways of seeing the world—
Yet trusting the same Savior.
We follow the same Light.
We rest in the same promise.

So we lift our voices now—
in rhythm,
in harmony,
in faith.

This is our song, Lord:
many hearts, one hope;
many stories, one salvation.

You are good.
You are faithful.
And even here—
in the middle of the storm—
we will shout for joy
to the Lord of the ark,
the God who remembers His family.

Amen.

Nov 21: Friday

“Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and bless His name.”(Psalm 100 : 1-3)

1️⃣ Identity

Father,
You are the God who loves to gather.

From the first garden,
You imagined the table—
light falling golden across the feast,
voices lifted in laughter and story.

You have always been preparing a place
for Your children to come home.

When You say, “Enter My gates,”
it isn’t a demand; it’s a welcome.

Your heart was full
before the door ever opened.
You built this house for belonging,
not for perfection.

You call the weary home
and call it worship.
You call the wanderer home
and call it grace.

2️⃣ Reflection

Lord,
here I am again,
dust still on my feet,
heart still catching its breath.

I’ve wandered through noise and hurry,
through arguments and ambitions,
through long weeks of doing and proving.

But the moment I see Your light in the window,
the striving quiets.

You step onto the porch to meet me,
and everything else fades.

You don’t ask for explanation;
You open Your arms.

I confess I forget, Lord—
family was always Your idea.
You never meant for me to earn my way home,
only to remember where I belong.

Thank You for the rhythm of Your kindness
that keeps calling me back.

3️⃣ Formation

Father,
teach me to live

like someone who’s already home.

Let gratitude be more than words before a meal,

make it the way I move through the day.

When I fold laundry or lock the door at night,
remind me I’m standing on holy ground.

When I speak,

let kindness be the accent of my faith.
When I break bread,

let forgiveness be what fills the table.

Make my home a quiet echo of Yours—
peace in the corners,
laughter in the halls,
space for the weary to rest.

And when I step outside,
help me carry that welcome with me—
to the store,

to the office,

to the person who feels unseen.

Let thanksgiving sound like patience,
and praise look like presence.

4️⃣ Exaltation

Thank You, Lord,
for calling us home again and again.

Your gates aren’t guarded—they’re open.
Your courts aren’t distant—they’re here,
in every place Your people remember You.

You turn my coming and going into communion,
my ordinary days into living psalms.

You are good,
and Your love outlasts every season.

From my table to Yours,
from my small life to Your great mercy,
I offer thanks.

Amen.
