Where are You as Lent Begins?
Even now, says the LORD,
return to me with your whole heart,
with fasting, and weeping, and mourning;
Rend your hearts, not your garments,
and return to the LORD, your God.
For gracious and merciful is he,
slow to anger, rich in kindness,
and relenting in punishment. Joel 2: 12-13

On Ash Wednesday, as ashes are placed on our foreheads, we hear one of two possible phrases:
“Repent and believe in the Gospel,” or “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return. ”
Lenten Message
Here is Pope Francis’ Message for Lent 2024
He reminds us during Lent, we go through the desert and God leads us to freedom. However, we need to desire to “open our eyes to reality” to answer the question, “Where are you?” (Genesis 3:9).
When we know where we are in relation to God, then we will know our sins and what our focus is on during the time in the desert.
