Medi-share and Dissecting Cardmember Services

October 16, 2013

Bob Lotich, Founder of ChristianPF.com, has been a customer of Medi-Share for over four years. He shares the moments when he used them and how much Medi-Share saved him money when he broke his hand.

What is Medi-share
Medi-Share is a healthcare sharing program, also known as a "Christian Care Medical Sharing" program, where participants pay each other's medical expenses. It is also NOT health insurance but it is a plan that works with the Obamacare restrictions.

Medi-Share members "share" their premiums into a Christian Credit Union. These funds pay the medial bills of other members. When you have a claim then Medi-Share negotiates to reduce the bill and then pays with the shared resources from the accounts.
What is required to join Medi-Share?
You must be accepted into the program and, as Bob Lotich states, you must "play by the rules". This is a Christian-based company so they will not pay for drunk-driving incidents, abortion, and other actions that don't follow a Biblical lifestyle.

Any prior health conditions are not covered (at least for now) and some routine visits to the doctor may have to come out of your own pocket.
Other Medi-Share benefits
Bob Lotich says he saved at least 50% over premiums from other companies he shopped in 2009. Members also receive a newsletter that notifies them of serious medical cases that could use our prayers. While Medi-Share isn't small it does have a "mom and pop" feel. The customer service is great and conversations on the phone with Medi-Share representatives are very helpful.

Do you remember Rachel from Cardmember Services?
You've heard the call before
This is important information from Cardmember Services. This is your final notice before we close the file on your annual credit card review. This is the final call to lower your interest rates to as low as 0% between all of your credit card accounts. Please consider this your final notice as you should have received mail. The only requirement you must have is at least one of your credit cards in good standing.
WOW! What a deal right? But this is the FINAL NOTICE - she said so three times! And I can't let the deal go cold because somehow I missed the mail she said was sent to my home.

Pay Attention!

The Agent will ask to confirm your personal details - including the credit card you want to have the interest rate lowered on. This is how they scam you. Never give personal information to someone that you did not contact or don't have a working relationship with.

This is a total scam

How do I know? They couldn't possibly lower the interest rates on my cards because all of my cards are already at 0% - THEY ARE DEBIT CARDS. I don't own any credit cards so they couldn't possibly have a file on me for their "annual credit card review".
If you want to lower your credit card interest rate
Negotiate with your own credit card company. Threaten to surf the debt to a lower-interest rate card you were offered in the mailbox yesterday.

Of course, paying the debt off completely will turn the highest-rate credit card into 0%. Cutting them up and using cash or debit cards will ensure your rate is 0% permanently.
