Swiss Army Man and Kong Skull Island – Intermission 149
This week on the Intermission Podcast, the Movie guys talk about sparklers, Kong Skull Island, Swiss Army Man, and Netflix. We also find out that Guy has a severe hatred of homeless people. Enjoy!
Is there going to be a Crank 3?
It’s no secret that Jason Statham wants to do Crank 3, but things have been pretty silent on that front. Well, Craig likes a lot of movie related pages on Facebook and he has been seeing sponsored posts from Crank (you know, the movie). So why would they be spending money advertising an old movie like Crank? Is there a new Crank movie in the works? There are really only a few possible scenarios here.
* They are trying to engage the Crank following in promoting other projects
* They are gauging interest for a possible Crank 3
* Crank 3 is actually a sure thing and they are re-energizing the fan base for a re-launch. Let’s hope it’s this one.
Then there was a fight over which was better: Crank or Transporter. Guy then decides that High Voltage was the best of the two… And I was told to watch them all.
Kong: Skull Island
This week the Movie Guys (minus Craig) went and watched Kong Skull Island! Everyone loved it, even Craig and he didn’t even see it! Guy thought it was what Godzilla should have been. There was way more fighting than in Godzilla. He claimed that Godzilla blue balled him, but Kong made him go all the way. And there was an awesome post credit scene to boot. Two thumbs. Guy also compared the size of the old Kong vs the new Kong. One was bigger…
Josh liked the Vietnam era setting, which we haven’t seen in awhile. They tied it in very well too. The Intern did dislike the natives, as they served no point to the story. He also did not care much for the Skull Crawlers, as they weren’t very scary.
While we were all talking about the movie that we all saw but him, he was eying the Beanboozled jar. He reaches in and grabs one. It was white. Coconut maybe. Or spoiled milk. It was spoiled milk. You should have seen his face. It was spectacular.
Netflix News
Netflix is going to introduce a skip intro button. This causes some controversy. Especially with Guy. There was a lot of yelling. Netflix also stole our thumb rating system! After we spent so much time inventing rating movies with thumbs. Guy then yells about Iron Fist.
Craig gushes over the Missing Richard Simmons podcast. It;s about this guy who was friends with Simmons and all at once Simmons just vanished. This guy is trying to find him and he’s not going to stop until he talks to him, but then he gives up. We’re not Simmons fans but Craig really likes it. It’s only six episodes so you got time for that.
Swiss Army Man!
Josh let everyone know about an excellent Amazon Prime gem: Swiss Army Man! Go watch it if you haven’t because there are spoilers ahead. Paul Dano (whoever that is) lost on an island and at the end of his rope, literally. He then sees a corpse wash up on shore, played by Daniel Radcliffe. He befriends the dead body, only after he rides his gas emitting body as a jet ski. He finds out that Radcliffe is a multi-use person thing. Craig is glad that Radcliffe is finally doing something with his life.
Guy reveals to us that he hates homeless people. We don’t know why but he does, he was very clear about it. Very clear. Anyway, if you have no home and are listening to this episode, here’s Guy’s address:
