Baby Blues or Depression: What You Need to Know and Where You Can Turn for Help

March 11, 2013

A majority of new moms – and a fair number of dads – experience what is commonly known as the “baby blues.” But when the sadness and emotional turmoil last for more than two weeks, it’s time for professional help to determine if this is more than a passing period of adjustment. In this week’s Mom Enough show, Crystal Clancy joins Marti & Erin for an important discussion of what we all should know about the signs of postpartum depression, the shame and stiga that too often prevent parents from getting treatment, and the resources that can help families move toward health and happiness.

Have you or someone close to you experienced depression or even the milder “baby blues”? What was it like and who was there to offer help and support? Share your thoughts in our REPLY space below!
