The Milwaukee Sports Performance Podcast
Ep22 | Charlie Lyon
Welcome back, everyone! On this week's episode, we were fortunate enough to be joined by Charlie Lyon. Charlie played division I soccer at Marquette University where he won multiple Big East championships and had two NCAA tournament appearances, including the Sweet 16. Following his graduation, he was drafted by the Seattle Sounders in 2015 where he was a part of their team when they won the MLS Cup in 2016. This was a great conversation with Charlie today and we think you will take a bunch of great things from our discussion.
Topics discussed today:
- Lauren's background working with Charlie
- The trust needed on both ends to make a successful rehab
- Charlie's advice for college athletes' on how to navigate being a student-athlete
- Understanding that being a professional athlete isn't as glamorous as one may think it to be
- Looking at food as medicine
- The mental preparation of being a professional goalkeeper
