The Milwaukee Sports Performance Podcast
Ep3 | Brooks Braga
Welcome to another episode of the Milwaukee Sports Performance Podcast. Today I'm joined by Brooks Braga. Brooks is the co-founder and director of training at BRX Performance in Milwaukee. Brooks grew up in the Madison area and was a star multi-sport athlete in Wisconsin in football, baseball, and basketball. He played college baseball at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, where he completed a degree in exercise and sports science with a minor in nutrition. As part of his program, he interned at Cressey Sports Performance in Boston, Massachusetts, where we learned in an environment training hundreds of professional baseball players.
He then co-founded BRX Performance and currently trains hundreds of high school, local high school athletes, college players, and several professional baseball players.
Topics discussed with Brooks today:
- How starting in sports management then led Brooks down the path of pursuing performance training
- What specific types of training & exercises are essential for baseball players to be successful
- The pitfalls of not involving an athlete in an in-season strength & conditioning program
- Being realistic along the spectrum of how an athlete should train from the end of the season and transitioning to out of season
