Dan Le is the Assistant Executive Director of the IHSA. He personally oversees several sports for the IHSA. In this interview he explains his tasks, and he breaks down much of what happens at the IHSA. He also describes that which he his most proud of, and he briefly describes his own sports journey.
Roxana HS Football HC Wade DeVries is back to be recognized, as the Shells are back-to-back MESPY winners for 3A Team of the Year. Coach DeVries describes the program, the ups and downs of the past season, the new middle school football program, and the team's first "Division 1 football player in the last 20 years," Andruw Ellis. Ellis, the MESPY winner for 3A Player of the Year, talks about his athletic journey from soccer to football and his commitment to Northern Illinois University, where the Huskies plan to use him on defense.
Last up, Eric Hanselman converted warehouse storage into a "premier pickleball space," which includes two brand-new courts. His concept, The Rallyclub, is the first of its kind in the Edwardsville area. Hanselman, a pickleball enthusiast, shares the details of the project, and he mentions One More Pickleball Game, a local pickleball group.
