Presented by Little Caesars Pizza, this episode features Steve Porter and Bill Roseberry talking Harry Gallatin Awards and the local hoops scene; Brian Schoby, Associate Athletic Director at ESTL HS; and, Coach Brooke Kloess of Mascoutah HS Girls Volleyball with players Grace Mak and Kinze Reese.
Legendary local sports scribe Steve Porter and former sports reporter Bill Roseberry kick off the show by recapping the recent basketball season, which included great runs by Alton Girls Basketball and the SIUE Men's Program, which qualified for the D1 National Tournament for the first time in school history. The guys also preview the upcoming Harry Gallatin Awards, which transpire this Sunday in Alton, and which recognize high school basketball greatness in the Riverbend area.
Next up, Brian Schoby loves his work making a difference in ESTL. As an associate AD and native of ESTL, Schoby loves the community, the kids, and the success the Flyers are having. Specifically, Schoby explains why the Flyers play a national football schedule, and he shares several of the recent academic and athletic success stories in "the City of Champions."
Wrapping up the show, Mascoutah Girls Volleyball Coach Brooke Kloess is in the studio to accept the MESPY for 3A Team of the Year. Kloess is joined by freshman Kinze Reese and senior Grace Mak. Mak and Reese talk about their teams' pregame rituals and playing for Coach Kloess. Kloess talks about making the move from Freeburg, coaching with her husband Dan, and her excitement over conference realignment.
