Show 5.21 kicks off with another visit from retired sports journalist/icon Steve Porter, who is in studio to talk about two upcoming projects he holds dear to heart: the IBCA golf scramble and the STL Sports Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. Porter details the good work done by the IBCA including their upcoming fundraising event, which is meant to help create a physical home for their association in Chicago. The upcoming golf scramble will be played at Arlington and will include a legacy award recognition for the late Dennis Schickedanz. Next, Porter describes the upcoming STL Sport Hall of Fame inductions scheduled to be held in STL, and which he will assist in hosting.

Next up, Fr. McGivney Girls Basketball Coach Jeff Oller is joined in the studio by two of his top players from the past season--Sami Oller (no relation) and Devin Ellis. The Lady Griffins earned the MESPY for 1A Team of the Year, and Oller talks about what it will take to maintain the great success enjoyed this season. Oller, who will play at Illinois Wesleyan next year, describes her busy life at McGivney playing volleyball, hoops, and track. Ellis, who has committed to playing soccer at UMSL in the fall of 25, talks about how her soccer career helps her on the basketball floor.

Then, Coach Nathan Rueter led the Lady Cougar Basketball squad to a 30-win season earning the MESPY for 2A Girls Team of the Year. Rueter talks about his two-decades leading the Cougars, what he liked about his team last year, the culture at Central (Breese), the bright future of his team, and his career as a player.

Last but not least...the Highland Lady Bulldog Dance Team was the only Metro East Team to finish in the top 10 at IHSA state. To accept the MESPY for Dance Team of the Year, Coach Erin Cotto shares studio with dancers Ava Fisher and Alyssa Vidmar. The girls share what's tough about the sport, and Cotto gives a "sneak preview" of next year's show. Vidmar and Fisher discuss last year's success and look forward to captaining next year's team.
