AJ Jacobs: Esquire Writer and Best-Selling Author

October 24, 2013

I’ve interviewed a lot of nice people in my day, but AJ Jacobs might take the cake. This guy is so nice it’s almost disturbing. I’m trying to get him to be mean, but he’s having none of it. Jacobs wrote one of my favorite books, The Year of Living Biblically: One Man’s Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as Literally as Possible, and has become a master of immersion journalism where he takes on a particular lifestyle for a period of time and reports on his experiences.

I should warn you, if you choose to watch the video version of this interview, AJ Jacobs is walking on a treadmill the entire time. This is a byproduct of his book, Drop Dead Healthy: One Man’s Humble Quest for Bodily Perfection, where he learned that movement can contribute to better health.

Jacobs also writes for Esquire, most recently in the form of an advice column. Follow him on Twitter at @ajjacobs and visit his website at www.ajjacobs.com.
