A few days ago, the Lieutenant Governor of Texas announced that he is pushing legislation to rename the New York Strip Steak the Texas Strip. Technically, the steak is considered the short loin. It has a variety of names in addition to the New York Strip. Since Texas produces the largest number of beef cattle in the U.S., some think renaming the steak is only fitting.
