Alumnae Fulbright Recipients

In recent years, Marist has had tremendous success with the Fulbright program, with 26 students and recent alumni receiving the fellowship in the last 15 years. Genesis Abreu '15 and Kerianne Baylor '14 speak about their experiences leading up to, during, and after Fulbright in this episode of Marist Connections. Kerianne graduated with a dual degree in Spanish and Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. She went on to teach English in South America, spending time teaching in Barranquilla, Colombia before receiving a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Maceió, Brazil. Genesis Abreu is a queer woman of color with Mayan indigenous roots and Salvadoran and Dominican ancestry. In 2015 - 2016, Genesis completed a Fulbright Research Grant to Cusco, Peru.
