Original Science Fiction – Makeshift Stories
73. A Perfect Life
Arthur C. Clark’s famous third law of prediction states that “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” But is understanding how something works any more important than the ultimate outcome it produces? Does it really matter if it is a mechanism that controls unknown forces or a magician’s incantation as long as it benefits us?
In this month’s story two people separated by a generation are connected and helped by a mysterious force that is driven by ancient and forgotten motivations.
