“The Mighty One Has Done Great Things for Me”

In this episode, Marilyn Quirk, the Founding Coordinator of Magnificat and Coordinator Emeritus of Magnificat’s Central Service Team, shares how “the Mighty One has done great things” for her and how she was led to found the international Magnificat Ministry while raising a family of six with her husband, Peter.

• While studying to become an Episcopal medical missionary in 1958, Marilyn converted to Catholicism.

• Since 1970, she has been active in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, serving on the Southern Regional Conference Steering Committee and the National Service Committee.

• Marilyn and Peter have six children and thirteen grandchildren and are members of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and Legatus.

• On January 29, 2000, St. John Paul II honored Marilyn with the Pontifical award Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice for her faithful “Yes” (Fiat) to nurture and grow the Magnificat Ministry.
