We typically don’t think of the word “aging” as having a positive connotation. It may bring to mind graying hairs, aching backs, and slowing down. But these things don’t always have to be true, and they don’t necessarily tell the whole story when it comes to getting older. There are many birthdays to look forward to as you near and enter retirement. These birthdays could come with greater ability to take control of your finances, or a Social Security benefit. Starting at age 50, several birthdays and “half-birthdays” are critical to understand because they have implications regarding your retirement income.
