Steam News :

Nekro (Early Access)

http://store.steam powered.com/app/246400/

  • Raise demons and spawn unholy weapons of war as a powerful Necromancer with an insatiable blood lust.

  • D1FFAA292B5525B4CE6CD816FC3F8395.jpg

  • I’ve given in a good 40min of play and it’s not bad.

  • The learning curve is smooth but difficulty goes from “easy†to “DIE FKR!†between levels.

  • Not a fan of early access games but this critter is just about done.

    • For early access, it’s leagues above the rest of the dross

  • Plays a lot like most MOBAs nowadays. Wouldn’t be surprised, if the multiplayer devolved into just that.

  • One of the very few Unity games on Linux that doesn’t run like ass.

April 29th Batch of Greenlight Titles

http://steamcommunity.com//sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=252983966

  • Nikki and the robots

  • KartSim

    • Hella want

  • FLASHOUT 2

    • Wipeout on a Unity budget

    • Multi-player Wipeout on an app budget. (make friends)

  • CHAOS looked interesting, until I saw the trailer all the way through.

  • Neon shadow: “#1 on the Ouya!†(if you don’t count Towerfall)

    • Play Quake as a faux-HK47!

Narcissu 1st & 2nd

http://store.steampowered.com/app/264380/

  • Early access Visual Novel

  • Apparently aimed directly at the feels

  • giveafuck.gif

Rabbit Hole 3D: Steam Edition

http://store.steampowered.com/app/283660/

  • Like AaaaaaaaaaAAAAA for the Awesome, but with more Lewis Carol  and pixels

  • This is one of the laziest excuses for a “game†that i’ve ever seen.

Wing IDE 5

http://store.steampowered.com/app/244830/

  • Buy your development tools on Steam!

  • yum search idle

  • Please don’t use Python for games *glares at Blender*

    • Eh, Pygame isn’t horrible

Back catalog dump (Round 2 – The Dumpening!) – The game

  • Justin writes:  I understand you can’t cover every kickstarter, but maybe you can cover this one?

  • I, I think we did? Billions of years ago in the futures past.

  • 64bit only

  • Xbox controller shit is fucked up.   Same with PS3 controller

Unity WebGL demo

http://blogs.unity3d.com/2014/04/29/on-the-future-of-web-publishing-in-unity/

  • Very curious to see how these games will perform in a browser, considering they like to hog all the resources whilst running natively

  • Runs smooth and not bad /w the resources. The random *hang* because asset loading is a bit jarring.

  • It’s better than what we had until now

Sir, You Are Being Hunted 1.0

http://www.big-robot.com/

  • Gerbil controls are still too damn high.

  • rent.jpg

  • For now, the big message of this latest update is: help us bug hunt!

  • Major optimisation pass, up to 30% performance increase on some machines

    • Bold claims considering it’s a Unity game.

  • Still takes 3min to generate the fk mothering level.

  • State indicators for bleeding, trapped, and starving.

  • Buildings still amount to cereal boxes with doors painted on them.

Mutant Factions Version 1.00

http://mutantfactions.net/

  • Formerly known as Subvein

  • Has no sound by default, deleting libopenal.so.1 from the lib folder fixes that.

  • Top down shooter ala early GTA with several tiny, tiny maps.

Tiled – FOSS 2D Map Editor

http://www.mapeditor.org/

  • Have actually used this guy for making D&D maps

  • Adequate in what it does, the struggle comes from finding decent tilesets, none of which are provided

    • Opengameart.com

Build A World (0.6)

http://www.buildaworld.net/news/060

  • …So fancy minecraft

    • €25 fancy minecraft if you want multiplayer.

      • Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasss

Makes with the working

V-

  • Loses a chair because the monitors go Zzzzzz. Got killed to death a few times because that.

J-

  • Loses a chair due to 3rd party controller xbox issues

P-

Total-

Shiny / Sounds

V-

  • Generic as it is; live music is best soundtrack.

  • I really dig the art style and the animated cut scenes are actually worth watching for the story.

  • I almost want to ding it a chair for the ridiculous jumping animation, almost.

  • At first I thought it was a Unity joint but I walked by some headlights and noticed a shadow effect and was all “nope, Unity can’t do thatâ€

J-

  • Music Is pretty decent rock

  • Art style…well its American chickens vs Commie penguins

P-

  • Animations are a bit janky

Total-

Control

V-

  • Alright, the controls worked from the menu so I started a game. Nooope! You need to assign the Xclone gamepad.

  • You don’t do anything fast. Really, moving a boxen requires a full stop ……………….. wait for action button……………… then use.

  • Same goes for elevators.

  • CCV help you if you’re stuck in crossfire.

  • and that motherfkr wants to roll.

J-

  • Turbo seizure controller and Hori Controller don’t work apparent, need to use real xbox controllers

  • Controls themselves are pretty janky

  • Multiplayer has an interesting dynamic involving some lost viking style gameplay

P-

  • Controls worked out of the box with the PS2 Dual Shock

  • Unfortunately there were some situations where it refused to let me use the right analog to aim and I had to use the mouse.

  • Movement is not an exact science in this game

Total-

FUN?

V-

  • Even with all the flaws this mental little side scroller kept me entertained.

  • I still loathe the rocket pack levels but wanting to learn more about the story made me sort the fkers.

  • And that’s the point. I kept coming back to this ridiculous thing during the week. Good game design is good game design.

J-

  • The sheer absurdity of the game makes it kind of fun

  • Ivan Drago bird

  • Multiplayer is fun, but fuck the dudes with the shields

P-

  • I guess Guacamelee has spoiled me when it comes to these type of games.

  • Multiplayer saves it from the score I had originally given.

  • If they had kept the original name, the score may have even been better.

Total-

Final –

  • As far as light/arcady metroid-vanias go, Guacamelee is a lot better.

Waaaaa!!11!

idiot.jpg

  • Um, http://store.steampowered.com/news/?feed=steam_client and BEHOLD!

  • “Updated the steam-runtime for Ubuntu 14.04 compatibilityâ€

  • Hahaha….gentle

  • Do I like to feel superior? Well, I AM superior but that’s beside the point.

  • That said, I like to feel right and I don’t suffer fools lightly.

  • You were wrong and instead of admitting it you barf out some passive aggressive emo diatribe.

  • In closing
