  • Essentially hardware accelerated VNC.

  • Needs a dedicated streaming PC, people doing other things on your source can fuck with things

  • Moar pics!11!

  • Even if I managed an invite *glares at Valve* I would have nothing to stream.

  • Got invited too, I managed to get 720p Dragon Age.

    • Only streams at the max res of the host.

      • Which on a headless 9 year old PC, it’s what I say it is.

    • Can only stream FROM windows to Linux. Linux hosting is still WIP.

      • Ah, that explains that. You filthy heathens still use Windows.

        • Hijacked Roommate’s machine.   He’s into it

        • Still have a windows 7 install kicking around.

Golden ticket

https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2014/01/msg00006.html

  • Suddenly I feel the need to see if debian is in need of a package maintainer

    • At this point, everyone wants to be a debian developer.

Steam client now offers self use refunds for pre-orders

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3219981

  • Progress

  • I would like a 2 hour refund option.

  • It’s a start, only works on pre-orders and in my whole life I only pre-ordered 1 game.

News:

Great improvements for AMD’s open source driver

http://kparal.wordpress.com/2014/01/16/amd-radeon-r9-270-experience-again-this-time-in-fedora-rawhide/

  • Kernel 3.13 and Mesa 10 bring the radeonsi driver to about the same level as r600.

  • r600 can do OpenGL 3.3 in Mesa 10, radeonsi can only do 3.1 so far. (No Metro Last Light on the open sauce drivers for people with radeonsi cards, yet.)

    • Recent update to devel Mesa added OpenGL 3.3 to radeonsi as well.

WINE 1.7.11

http://www.winehq.org/news/2014011701

Hate Mail:

Lutris 0.3.3 released

S.W.A.A.G.

http://bram.itch.io/swaag

  • Thanks for the heads up Bram Stolk.

  • One thing though, the physics and game speed are locked to the framerate (BAD). Means even my calculator, running the game at 60FPS, it’s twice as fast as it should be. Making it unplayable.

    • Managed to work around it by v-sync’ing the open sauce driver to 30FPS

    • Version 1.5 fixes the framerating issues: http://goo.gl/ljF7pD

Solar Flux

  • He did send us three keys, so we may be throwing the chairs at it soon enough.

    • FSM I hope not.
